Working out while sick

Just wanting some input on working out while sick. I've got a head cold, body aches and a stuffy nose. My rest day was Saturday and won't come around again until Sun. Im not sure how well I would be able to exercise today. I don't want to put in half effort.. should I just rest again today and pick up tomorrow if I feel better? I really don't want to take another rest day so soon but if my body needs to rest again I dont want to push it.

I've always heard if it's in your head, workout. If it's in your stomach, rest.
But if you're like me, I can handle stomach sick more than I can handle head sick. Head colds KILL me! So I say just listen to your body and do what you feel!0 -
Listen to your body and rest. If you are truly sick (and not just talking yourself out of exercising , which it doesn't sound like you are) then your body needs to heal. Then you'll have a kick a*s workout tomorrow when you're hopefully feeling better as opposed to being sick for a longer amount of time because you forced yourself to exercise.0

i find that if i push myself to at least get a little bit of exercise, i get better faster than if i stay at home in bed. if i feel a sickness coming on, i go for a run on the treadmill. it works every time and helps my body fight off the sickness. Obviously, you shouldnt do this if you are really sick though. Only you know what you can handle.0

If you feel tired and too sick to work out, don't. I never work out if I'm not feeling well enough to. Your body needs rest, not more exhaustion.0

It really depends on how sick you are.
I don't recommend going to the gym when you are noticeably sick. Other people can catch colds and flus. However, you can always do pushups and situps at home. There are some other home workouts that you can do with minimal equipment.0 -
Take a rest day. Power thru soreness but not thru sickness. Often times, the exertion will exacerbate your sickness. If it's a little sniffles that's one thing. But if your joints and head ache, take a day or two.
Plus, the rest of us don't want your cooties.0 -
It depends on how sick and what kind of sick you are. If you're feverish, fatigued and/or have chest congestion, you should rest completely. If it's a head cold and you've still got some energy, you can workout but take it down a notch or two (like a runner should just walk). Remember you're body is already working hard on fighting that bug and adding more stress will just be detrimental.0

A good doctor will tell you exercising through sickness is dangerous as it put pressure on the heart, rest is key here.0

Might be your immune system just run down a little since youve been putting in so much effort this past week and maybe not eating nough to keep up with it. Take a rest day off, get plenty sleep and start again tomoz x0
