Hi all
Ok so I had my baby 14 months ago. So far lost 7 inches on my tummy and 5 inches from underneath my boobs (the dreaded back fat has gone!!!!!)
I've still got a mummy tummy but its mainly underneath my belly button now.
I've been doing the 30 day shred plus some yoga and walking here and there but measured my tummy today and I'm 2 inches bigger?!?
I look silly as I'm slim everywhere else but my tummy seems to be getting bigger??
It's my time of the month soon so I don't know if that's it? Or does building muscles make you bigger?
I haven't put on any weight just sprung up in inches!
Also is there a period when you're working out that you look out of proportion.....eg slim arms legs and back but tummy that sticks out and looks silly? How long does this last?
Thanks xxx

You most likely haven't built enough 'muscle' for that to be the cause...Just relax, it's probably water retention! Keep working out, don't get disheartened, you're on the right track x0

how long has it been 2 inches more for? Your body fluctuates quite a lot, as ShreddedTweet said, its probably water retention or something. It's normal before your period too. I wouldn't worry :flowerforyou:0

Its only been 14 months. Have you checked your stomach muscles to make sure they have closed (mine took ages and I always ended up looking like I had an alien in there while doing sit ups!) I also noticed post baby that the pre-menstrual water retention was a nightmare and still can be if I dont watch my sodium like a HAWK the week before.
It can take up to two years for your body to recover fully from child-birth so dont worry, keep as you are and youj will soon see the benefits x x0 -
lol.
Yeah real helpful response there.....:grumble:
I very much doubt it's actually getting bigger. If you are sticking to a calorie deficit and exercising you will lose fat. It's maybe just your perception or like the last poster said, water retention. If it hasn't improved after a week or so maybe take a look at your diet and see if theres things you could change?0 -
Thanks everyone
2 inches over the last two days. Come to think of it I haven't drunk nearly enough water over the weekend. I wonder I that has contributed too.
