Trying to walk again

I used to weigh 219 lbs then I got Post Polio Syndrome - my 47 year old polio came back to make me weaker. I was reduced to sitting in a wheelchair. A physiotherapist told me I was carrying around 2 - 30 lb turkeys so I decided to lose them.

Using DietPower and calorie counting I dropped to 163 lbs - started walking and playing music in public. I ate Mediterranean Diet to get healthy.

Slowly but surely the beers, bar-b-q and good life crept back in and my weight inched up to 200 lbs. Last year I stopped walking. Too much draft beer and fish and chips.

The old program was too complicated. I started several times but dropped it after a few days.

MyFitnessPal works on my phone and computer. It's easy and in three weeks I've lost 7 lbs. Beyond the calorie counting, it's just a matter of conditioning my brain to resist snacks and big portions.

I don't know if I will be able to walk again but I bet I will.
