  • This website... http://golf.about.com/od/fitnesshealth/a/golfphysical.htm claims you burn 411 calories for 9 holes. 721 if you walk the course! So, you could be burning as much as 822 calories for 18 holes.

Wow, I need to golf more! I haven't played in a year or two. I had no idea I could burn so many calories just by swinging a club :)

According to the MFP exercise database a 4-hour round of golf (240 minutes) using a power cart would burn 1486 calories for someone who weighs 234 pounds. Hard to believe its that much but it wouldn't hurt to see! I'd be out there tomorrow if this DAMN SNOW WOULD EVER MELT!

Exactly, I've been playing a lot of Wii Golf, but I don't think it's the same.

I haven't played since I had my HRM. Ffirst time out this spring I'll see what it says on this matter.

If it's walking I could see it burning over 1000 k/cal.

Reviewed several websites and for my size and age - 210lbs in my 50s - pretty consistent 200 calories per hour. A couple were more.

200 calories per hour is nothing. You burn more from taking a stroll in a park for an hour.
