    lol

My spelling, especially, is not always perfect on here. But if I'm going to criticize anyone else's grammar or spelling, I proofread the crap out of that post! lol

Me too. I'm an editor, of sorts. It's my day job to catch spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors in documents.

May I be your princess? Princess Grammar Nazi

Sometimes I wish I were among the ignorant who would look at that site and have no idea what the problem is. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss. To the rest of us, our heads nearly explode several times a day.

My personal favorite is "then" for "than" or vice versa...I saw then for than tattooed on an arm once. Sad, very sad.

I think my biggest pet peeve about language usage is the misuse of the phrase "Begs the question." *Even* Mike Rowe misused it on one of his "Dirty Jobs" episodes...I started pulling my hair out. When I heard a newscaster misuse it, I wanted to shoot him/her, their copy writer then the station manager. (that's hyperbole, btb)

    *sigh*

Let's not forget "different than." *runs screaming from the room*

    /edited to correct a typo....bwahahahahaha

When I hear national news people pronounce "asked" as "axed" and other such mistakes, I can't get too upset about things like that. I wonder how they got their jobs.

My question is of content, not grammar. Isn't memorial day, umm, a day dedicated to people who died? How is that a happy day?

True, true. But most people don't remember that. To them it's just an excuse for picnics and sales. I've never even considered getting a cake for it, though.

Memorial Day has always felt solemn to me, it would be odd to have a party complete with cake.

Also, apparently my grammar sucks because I stared at some of the examples for a few minutes and couldn't find anything wrong.

And now, to distract you from my ignorance, a random picture I found on the interwebz!

Then you should know that no comma is needed between "editor" and "of sorts" :) lol
