I have been eating well (1200 a day) for last 2 months and exercise 4-5 days a week for 1 hour. I sometimes go little obove my calories. And so far I have lost only 5 lbs.

You might not be eating enough. Also, you may be eating carbs at the wrong time of the day. The bulk of carb intake should be in the morning.0

There is only one way to say this: you are most likely not eating enough.
I have seen it before on this website milions of times.. I have tried being in that situation myself as well.
You must eat more. Just eat slightly more than your BMR and below your TDEE and you will be doing yourself a world of good.
All the best0 -
Is 1200 what you were recommended based on your weight and goals or was it what you chose? Like the other poster said you may need more food esp when you are exercising. Are you eating back some of your exercise calories? It truly helps I'm not saying all just some. Also are you eating healthy foods it makes a difference, lower fat and such. Good luck0

By the way, don't say "just 5lbs" . Every pound counts. Like every drop in the sea makes the whole sea. :flowerforyou:0

Some days I do eat back my calories, but there are days I don't. I have lost weight before but it was never this slow.0

As soon as i upped cals from 1200 to 1400-1500 (a little more when i excercise but dont even "log" my exercise) I see the number on my scale drop and a pant size very quickly.0

You have to eat your excercise calories. You didn't mention if you were doing that. If you are not then you are in a deficit so weight loss will be slow. Anyway 5 lbs in 8 weeks is not bad. You should lose about 1 lb per week. Try adding back your excercise calories and eat those and you may see a difference. Keep with it and pay attention to your net- make sure you meet your net.0

Most of the time I don't eat the exercise calories back. I will try that this month and see what the results are.0

People are probably right, you've been in too large of a deficit for too long. Eat a bit more protein + healthy fats. Some whole carb sources post workout can help with hormone levels too, helping you drop the weight faster.0
