Really stupid question

I am new to this message board and the whole message board concept in general. Can anyone quickly tell me what a troll is and what bump means. Thanks.

A troll is someone who posts topics just to get everyone riled up.
"Bump" means either someone is trying to put the topic at the top of the page so more people see it, or they're coming back to read it later and want a record of where the thread is.
