I want shoulders and lean legs, but I don't want to be that toned to where I can't zip up my boots all the way up the calf or have to wear special shirts jut to fit my arms.

you aren't going to put on that amount of muscle from lifting heavy.

it takes a ton of work to gain amounts of muscle like that, and if you're eating in a deficit to lose weight, it won't be a problem.

    <---Not bulky in my opinion.
It is extremely difficult for women to get bulky. You need to train for it and eat at a surplus.

Toned calves and legs are extremely sexy and zipping up should not be a problem, especially if you are at your goal weight.

Calf size is due in big part with genetics. I have big calves like every women in my family.

I lift heavy and all it did was to make me smaller (even my calves lol)

Focus on changing your lifestyle in such a way that you have the knowledge and habits to eat well and exercise well for the rest of your life. Being afraid of bulking up is not even remotely an issue you have to worry about. That's like being afraid of accepting a job because you fear you will become a millionaire.

Don't eat at a surplus, walk around flexed all the time, or do steroids.

Heavy lifting has only made my arms & legs smaller and more streamlined.

^^And avoid the spam above me from california girl.

She's more interested in promoting the company that pays her.

The company doesn't pay her to promote their programs! She also has the backing of the MFP staff

So MFP gets a cut as well? That makes sense.

She's either being paid, or receiving some type of compensation. otherwise she wouldn't spam people and promote this.

I'm frustrated that MFP is behind her spamming the boards with all of this garbage......

I'm in the same boat as you...but overall I have lost inches from all over. I've been at it for about 5 months now (with a month off for surgery) and I can see a difference in myself. Not as much as I'd hoped for just yet, but it takes time. it makes my hubby laugh when he sees me flein' in the bathroom mirror. Oh well, LOL, I've earned these!

Lift heavy, eat at a calorie deficit (TDEE-20%), and get in lots of protein. You can continue to lose volume but gain shape. Since lifting I have lost 3 inches off my waist, gained muscle definition in my back and shoulders, and not gotten bulky at all.

most of my boots fit but were quite tight before I started lifting, this is a picture I took last fall of a pair of boots that 6 months earlier I had broken the little piece that attaches to the zipper:

You won't accidentally bulk up, and you should be able to get the results you want through a mix of strength training and cardio. Don't be afreaid to pick things up and put them down.

I'm pretty sure the only people who can't wear boots zipped up and need special shirts are the ones who are out of shape and overweight.

So I've never really looked at her links before, but now going through them, I don't see any blatant promotion of a company. Just lots of pics of her. Seems more vanity than anything. Am I missing something. Note that I have short attention span so I didn't actually ready much, just skimmed.

it's in her profile. This is a trick that gets used often. They promote "themselves" and lure people to see their profile where they put links to the program that they owe all their success to.

Lol well no, I can't wear all boots and I'm not overweight or out of shape, but I do have very "bulky" calves. They are from years of ballet dancing and genetics, though, not lifting weights.

    really??

I TRULY think you have no worries . Lifting weights isn't going to cause or contribute to that problem for you.

Why don't you just put her on ignore if it bothers you that much? That's what I do when people annoy me.
