Hey,

I just wanted to post this as some of you may have some advice you could offer.

I am due to work overseas in a few months as part of a work project which i am really excited about but today i had a call saying you need to be fitted for your uniform for when you are away.

I suddenly became so anxious because i have a real issue with other people knowing my size - even though they can see it anyway - but i dont want to share my vital statistics with co-workers. They said the fittings will be done in groups and i was told today there are lots of sizes for the slim people (which doesnt help me much).

I am trying to stick to my exercise and healthy eating but now i am in panic mode thinking how i am going to reduce my clothes size in 3 days - in the end i emailed my approx size over in order to avoid the humiliation of having to be measured - but i fear when monday comes the tape measure will come out and I just might actually faint.

Please help - how do i control my anxiety over this....:(

Hey Girl! I am the same way about people knowing my size. But you know, you are what you are and who cares what anyone else thinks. If someone is actually going to talk about your size then you know what they are immature and have no life. I know I wouled be stressed out about it too, but this is one of those situations where you cannot control it. There is nothing you can do to change anything in three days. So stop worrying and dont let anyone get you down! Go buy a spanx if you really are worried about it!!
  • When I read this post, I felt your pain. You have made a major accomplisment in losing 20 lbs. Be proud of the strides you have made, as certainly your co-workers are. Go get measured, face your fear, and know that next year this time you will be a smaller version of you. My fitness class is all girls @ a size 2, I was an 18. Did I feel embarrassed that first day? Sure did. Did I continue to go? Sure did. No ones opinion of you is more important than yours. I pray you can do this and really enjoy your work venture!

You walk right in there with head held high young lady:heart: . Think about how you would have felt going through this last year. You have made great strides. A tape measure does not measure your worth. Beauty comes from within! Walk in proud and be a rolemodel for others. You will notice others who are in much worse condition than yourself. They will be looking at your new slendering body jealously. Tell them about MFP! You go girl!

Do your best to not worry about what anyone else might (and probably isn't anyway!), thinking.
Be proud of the weight loss work you've already done and keep going! 20 lbs. down is AWEsome!

Look forward to the time when you'll look back and have even more weight loss to be proud of!

You GO Girl!!!!!! :flowerforyou:

Thanks for your comments. My fitting is tomorrow - i am totally anxious about it but then i thought about what you all said and its not the end of the world its just a clothes size - not anything that isnt possible to get over.

I will go in there tomorrow and hope it isn't as mortifying as im expecting it to be and as you said it's not like im going in 20lbs heavier like last year.

Will let you know how it goes!
