What do you dip celery in?

Looking for some low calorie options to snack on at work, and thought I'd try celery! Although I'd have to ease into it and dip it in something first, so what would you recommend?

Sometimes I'l dip veggies (not necessarily celery) in balsamic vinegar. Sounds weird, but I like it. I also like using green onion dip (using light sour cream).

    Weight Watchers Buffalo-Style Stuffed Celery

1/2 cup(s) low fat cream cheese, softened
    2 Tbsp blue cheese, softened
    1/2 tsp minced garlic
    1/4 tsp table salt
5 serving(s) uncooked celery, five large ribs cut into 4 pieces each
2 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce, or to taste
1 Tbsp chives, fresh, chopped (optional)

    Instructions
In a small bowl, stir together cream cheese, blue cheese, garlic and salt until smooth; spoon about 1/2 tablespoon cheese mixture into each piece of celery.

To serve, arrange stuffed celery on a plate, drizzle each with about 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (or let guests add their own by serving the pepper sauce on the side). Sprinkle with chives if desired. Yields 2 pieces stuffed celery per serving.

Vodka, tomato juice and spices :drinker:
  • Ranchaholic here. 1 2-cup container of Fage 0% fat greek yogurt and 1 ranch seasoning packet of choice. 10 cal per tablespoon. You can also make your own ranch seasoning (google it), and take out all the extra sodium etc. if you like. :)

Lemon juice and a little olive oil is good. In fact, now I just squeeze a little lemon juice on - very low cal, and nice flavor with celery, green peppers and lettuce.

    Hummu
    Peanutbutter
    Low Fat cottage cheese
    Almond butter
-Top with Crasins or Rasins for 'lady bugs' or 'ants on a log'

-Sun Dried Tomatoes, low fat cottage cheese and olives give a crunchy pizza stick.
  • If you like peanut butter, but want to make sure your portion is calorie appropriate, I use the JIF single serve cups, they have 250 calories each in the cup. I also use hummus and Laughing Cow cheese wedges--a lot of flavors to try and they are only 35 calories per wedge. You may also want to try Wholly Guacamole snack packs--they come preportioned in 100 calorie pouches which I find super helpful.

greek yogurt is a great alternative when you want to make your own flavors. plain greek yogurt has no flavor so do it up any way you want....I found miking a little bit of lemon juice to it will make it taste like sour cream! http://www.fageusa.com/recipes/

oh and yoplait or lucerne makes a 100 cal per container of the yogurt so you could open it up and add what you want and the whole container would be 100 cals. depending on what you add to it

I spread peanut butter on mine. I have tried other things, but peanut butter is the only thing that makes celery edible to me.
  • I have veggies every afternoon with tzatziki, which is a cucumber yogurt dip. I get the presidents choice with garlic. It is 50 calories per 2 tbsp. Delicious :)
