How am I doing?

Hello,
I have my diary set to public. Can any of yall check it out and tell me how I'm doing?
My main issue is that I went over my sodium limit 2-3 times now in the past week and a half, I am just concerned that will hold back the water and hinder my weight loss progression. What would you suggest? As you can see from my diary I went over a few times.
The sugars are also a little high , but keeping in mind I always have tons of calories left ...still would that make a difference? I have had 3 mini donuts (over the course of 2-3 days) for the first time in 25 days.
One last thing, I eat 4 slices of whole wheat bread everyday + 2 glasses (one with cereals and one with the chocolate powder (90 calories) of 1/2% low fat milk? Am I messing up?

There were some words in your diary I didn't understand, but from my general impression, looks like you are eating almost zero vegetables? It would be good for your health to add a few servings of vegetables every day. A bit more fruit would be good too. Lots of nutrition and fiber in these.0

I agree with the previous poster. You definitely need to look at bringing down your sodium and the best way to do that is to eat less processed foods and make your meals from scratch as much as possible. Vegetables are a definite important thing to add as well.0

You also aren't eating enough.
You need to add fruits and veggies. Fiber and protein will help keep you fuller longer.
Why is your calorie goal set so low? You should probably have your net set way higher than 1200.0 -

^ I agree 100% with this. I will add: Instead of drinking orange juice - eat and orange or two. You are extremely high in your sodium.
That holds water. Hopefully someone on here can tell you all the negative medically side effects to too much sodium daily.
You can do!!! Try eating cleaner.
Good luck!0 -
Agreeing with everyone else here regarding the fruit / vege stuff.
Stop buying hamburgers and kebabs and frozen curries! Sure, curries are tasty, but lots of spices = lots of sodium. And your profile says 24 year old male? I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be going lower than 1800 calories??
Bananas and apples are a great "go to" fruit. Bananas come in their own package - they're ready to go. Apples are the same. you don't have to peel them or cut them or eat them with a spoon.
As far as fruit goes, you've had 1 apricot and 4 cups of grapes in the past week. You need to get your butt to the supermarket and stock up on fruit and vege.
Sorry, that does sound a bit ranty doesn't it? I mean it in the best way - like the way your mum would tell you off. :-)0 -
You gotta eat more dude
I don't know how big of a person you are but I would guess that you should be eating closer to 2000 calories at the very least0 -

And thanks all for the honest opinions.0 -
More water will help balance out the high sodium days.
And, like everyone else: add more vegetables and fruit!0 -
Rule of thumb my daughter's doctor gave her after she hit puberty:
"At each meal, adults need to devote half of their plates to fresh fruits and/or vegetables, a quarter to protein and/or dairy, and a quarter to carbs."
That goes for EVERY meal. She also said that processed foods (meals from the freezer or a box) and fast food should be considered only as rare treats or last resorts. And that you don't really need to worry about getting "enough" fat, just watch that you don't get too much.
In the case of vegetables, you can substitute frozen for fresh as long as they're JUST vegetables -- not with sauces, etc. You can also use frozen fruits in smoothies. Yum!
Lastly, I agree with the other posters who said you need to eat at least as many calories as MFP gave you when you entered your stats. More if you exercise a lot. At your age, going under won't do you any good.
Good luck -- you're going to be completely changing the way you eat -- how exciting!0 -
megleo818 - that's a rule of thumb I try to follow. I look at my plate and try and make sure it's dominated by veggies (or that there's a bowl full of salad sitting next to it).
I used to live on fast food and 100% prepared stuff. I still eat some prepared/package stuff, but I try to balance it out more with fresh veggies and fruits. It's made a huge difference in my life - I have more energy and feel like I'm eating more food, but am actually consuming fewer calories since veggies are high volume and low calories.0 -
thanks people.0
