This article was really eye-opening for me. I realized I've been treating the depression I've had since I was 11 with food and I've gone through bouts of "addiction transfer" when I was denying myself food by finding other unhealthy things to replace the feeling I got when eating food.
Anyone have thoughts? I'm thinking about getting a workbook on food addiction to work through it...

This is referred to as "Cross Addiction" in my field. You pretty much "drop the bottle, to pick up a joint." This is usually unintentional, but sometimes it can be rationalized. "Ill quick crack, but I will smoke pot since i heard it is more healthy" for example.
The goal is to try to find a HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE. You really do not want to be "addicted" to anything, everything is balance and moderation!!0
