Sodium intake

How do you know how much Sodium intake you are supposed to have daily? I hear/read 1,000-2,300 that seems like a huge difference to me. TIA

RDA for US is 2400 and in GB it is 1600. Sodium intake of 1500mg or less is reported to aid in lowering blood pressure. I have mine set for 1600mg.

2,500 mg is the RDA for most people.

I personally wouldn't worry about it unless you have blood pressure issues or were eating a lot of processed food everyday.

No more than 2300mg per day. The lower the better.

The reason for the big spread is due to underlying health issues like high blood pressure. People with this condition (and many others) need to limit sodium a lot more, typically between 1500-1800mg per day.
