Sneezing fits after running?

Okay, this might be a silly question but this seems to only happen to me on days I run. Has anyone else experienced intense sneezing fits after running? I don't sneeze while I run but some days when I get back I have sneezing fits that happen several times, every few minutes, for up to an hour or two after the run. It's super annoying and I can't find any pattern to it because it's not after every run. It has happened when it was warm out, cold out, temperate...high humidity, low humidity...after different routes...am I crazy?

Sounds like allergies... never sneezed a day in my life outside of being sick until one day in my 30's, I started having allergies. They got worse for a few years now getting milder. I take claritin on days I run and have no problems during or after my runs.0

This happens to me two. I experimented with it; run every four days and only have the issues on those days. From google searching I found an article that stated it was due to the body flooding the bloodstream with histamine to force you from exerting yourself; defense measure. I asked my family doctor about this during my checkup and he didn't seem to think that was right, and basically said I should take some Benedryl or the like before/after the run to offset it.
I would like to know what is causing it though. I will say this; when I wear my heart rate monitor and I don't go over a certain range... no runny nose and sneezing. So maybe it is a defense mechanism of the body, maybe not.0 -
Huh, that's interesting. I didn't think about that but this was definitely an intense run - it was actually the fastest pace I've maintained for 3 miles -ever-. Hmm.0

Yeah. My HRM isn't working so I'm not sure where my heart is at. Did 5.12 miles last night (longest ever). Feels like there is a college kegger going on in my sinus cavity since I got back from it. Will be like this until tomorrow probably and then nothing; like it never even happened.0

That's how mine have been too. It's so bizarre. Glad it's not just me though.0
