I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this and if it helped them at all?

I am not obese, just generally overweight, but after a couple of years of going up and down in my weight, I realise that my main issue is that I have a hard time maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine when I have to deal with stress in my life.

Aside from my normal tactics, i.e.dieting, exercising, etc, I also do things to help me with my stress management such as meditation, yoga, etc. I know everyone has different opinions and what works best for them, in terms of stress management, but I have found these things help me greatly.

Even still, I am still at a point where I feel that I don't have a permanent handle on it, meaning anytime some new stress pops up in my life I tend to stop my routines.

So, I have been considering going to OA to see if maybe it could teach me some stress handling techniques and also how to break my cycles. I think I would prefer a group setting like this, rather than one on one therapy, only so I can hear other peoples experiences as well.

Has anyone else tried OA or something similar in terms of group therapy and has it helped them at all? (In case you don't know OA is overeaters anonymous)

*bumping to try and catch ya a few responses*
I have fairly succesfully swapped the urge to eat with the urge to either sleep or go on a run when stressed- but thinking back, i was never really a big stress eater anyway, boredom is my enemy!
