Shedding for slots/vanishing for Vegas

So I am new to this site. My friend and I are both on here because we wanted to "dip our toes in the water" and challenge each other to a weight loss battle. 30 days to see who could lose the most by watching our calories and exercising. We shall be leaving for a fun filled birthday celebration to Las Vegas for Halloween (where we are sure to eat back our calories in one sitting at a buffet).

But, I must say this logging calories has been kinda fun (my obsessive personality is enjoying this greatly) and I'm thinking about making this a lifestyle change! I haven't lost any weight yet, but I am just on day 10. Any newbies (or old-bies?!?) on this site want to link up and share their weight loss challenge stories and be friends? Its funny breezing through here and seeing people with profile pictures of washboard abs, 6 packs, and weight loss trackers that say they have lost 170+ pounds in 2 weeks. That really doesn't motivate me at all! Maybe I'm a hater...hehe!
