My girls names are Samantha and Michaela (the REAL spelling of Makayla). and we came up with them pretty quickly. If we had a boy my husband wanted to name him Famous Danger. Thank GOD we had girls. LOL!

John, James, David, William for a boy.

And yes, I'm white, boring, and think trendy names are silly.

I totally agree that the 'modern names" are silly. I don't even consider them real names. Those poor kids, i feel so bad for them.

I work for a medical equipment company. We received an Rx for a kid and the name on the Rx was Le-a. We were thinking Leah. When the rep called to confirm delivery with Mom, she said, "It's pronounced Le-dash-a. The dash not be silent."

We still joke about that one and we've seen some doozies. LOL!

My son and his wife just had a baby. They put their names together KAte and dYLAn and made KAYLA : )) I blessed my oldest with an unusual and short name, "Evi" (short for Eveyln - a family name) and she has had to spell it every day of her life. I told them to steer clear as she'll already be spelling the last name!!

My boys are Jonas and Ezra.

My other favorites for boys are Asher, Gabriel, Eliah (no j)

If we had a girl, her name would have been Georgia. I also love Addie, Clara and other assorted old fashioned names like Hattie.

Any regular name with a D' or J' before it. Or something with Lynn hyphenated after it.

My (step) Boys: Blaine and Rylee (even though the spelling for this is girlish I think, but not my choice)

We tended to choose names with family significance.

    Julia Antoinette
    Heather Katharine
    Celeste Madeleine
    Phoebe Michelle

The names we used to throw at each other in frustration because picking names was really really hard:

    Xerxes
    Gahunkula
    Peewee
any one of a number of ex partner's names

    My kids are named:
    Sean Anthony
    Ava Gabriella
    Nicolette Alessandra
    Tatiana Alectra

If any of my girls had been a boy they would have been one of the following:
    Gabriel Michael
    Dominic Aurelius
    Pasquale Luca
    Lorenzo Pietro

I really like the name Titania from Midsummer Nights Dream but my husband thought she might be teased and called titanic. We also loved Leilani but have a friend a child with that name.

    I am a registrar a non-profit organization.
We cater to girls, so I see A LOT of girls names.
Some are cute and new takes on names. My current fav is Ember instead of Amber.
Also a fan of Dakota, Ellie and Karys.

Some that I am tired of seeing all the time...Miracle, Nevaeh (heaven backwards) and Unique.

Sometimes I wonder what parents were thinking.
I feel bad for some of these girls with names like Unique Christian or Miracle Waters.
Really people? Did you think at all how the first name sounds with the last?
Even have one girl name Placenta because the mom didn't know English and thought it sounded pretty. Poor girl.
