50% Carbs, 25% Protein and 25% Fat...what do you think?

Looking for a good daily breakdown to use as a goal. I definitely need to work on my sodium intake but that's another issue. I though of bringing carbs lower and upping the protein but since I'm a vegetarian I'm not sure I'll be able to do that. Plus, I need to reassess the meat substitutes I eat because they are apparently loaded with sodium and right now they are my source of protein. Anyway, thoughts on these goals would be helpful, thanks!

50% carbs would make me gain weight like there's no tomorrow, but everyone is different.

Why don't you try it and see how you feel?

I've been do it and have no trouble loosing at all. I find it much easier to stick to too because I find lowering the carbs too boring and I get sick of eating so much protein!

I do 50/25/25 right now, which is actually fewer carbs than I ate before MFP - working my way down...next stop, 45/30/25 :)

Yes I do and I love it. I've played around with the %'s for ages and this suits me best.

25% carbs, 35% protein, 40% fat. Keep in mind though I am a type 2 diabetic.
