I'm celebrating the fact that it has been 15 years since I made that scary step to come out to the world! I look at today as more of an anniversary. I don't need to celebrate per say but use today to reflect to see how much has changed and how far we have come in those years. My friends and I who all came out together will be celebrating this weekend by doing a pub crawl as this is a milestone year for us!

Apparetly there are very few people celebrating the fact that they came out and said this is who I am and I'm proud to be me!

Thanks! Your right is not easy! My heart goes out to your friend, I can not imagine what that is like to have a mother that to this day will not have anything to do with her daughter because she is gay. That is only one small piece of her pie that makes her who she is. I'm blessed that I have an accepting family that has continued to love me dispite in the being their lack of understanding. I hope your friends mom see's the light and realizes life is too short for all this non-sense.

Hope your pub crawl is amazing! It has been six years today since I came out. Its obviously a scary thing to do, but I love that today's Coming Out Day helps take some of the stigma away
