MFP says 1240 calories...and another site says

1500 for extreme weight loss. Which one should I follow? Also my nutrionist said I should eat more than 1240. Should I split the difference.

  • Well you can always start out with the higher number for a couple of weeks and see how you do. If you don't get the results your looking for then adjust the number.
  • mfp is a basic model for most ppl , your nutritionist has seen you in person and evaluated u a bit differently than mfp , so listen to nutritionist

MFP gives you "credit" for exercise which increases your daily calorie goal, which would account for the difference in calories. 1240 plus about a half hour exercise a day for about 200-300 calories ends up being about the same amount.

I did best at 1350-1500 PLUS exercise calories, for a total of 1800-2000 calories most days.
