Hi guys.

I just joined the gym, I'm 208 trying to get to 140. My question is that I know strength training is also important when getting into shape, not just cardio, but how much of each should I do? Should my workout be 50/50? Or concentrate more on cardio until I'm a bit smaller?

Thank you :3

What are you goals? Running a marathon? Cycling a century?

****, if it's just weight loss, do 100% strength and throw some walking in, and keep dieting.

Do what you like. If you prefer cardio, then do a 50/50 split or maybe just a few days of weights. If you love weights then do primarily weights with a little cardio or none. The most important thing is to do what you can stick to. Just as long as your not overdoing it on cardio.
I barely do any cardio except 20 minutes once or twice a week and weights about 5 days a week. Thats just because I love weight lifting as my form of exercise. :)
When I intially lost all my weight years ago, I did mostly cardio and weights just a few days a week. Thats what I preferred then. Once I got to a smaller weight, I started lifting more and just started to love weights much more.
