Getting healthy is like...

For me, getting healthy is like running away from a zombie

-Slow and steady wins the day. Sprinting (I mean metaphorically - I like real sprinting) just tires you out and slows you down in the long run.
-If you stop for too long, it catches up with you.
-You can't ever let down your guard - there could be a donut er... I mean zombie around any corner.
-There is no end. You have to accept that the way you're living now is the way you're going to have to live your whole life.

For me, getting healthy is like pulling off a band-aid really really slowly. Taking every single little hair along with it.

But zombies usually eat nutritious things (brain, heart)
They never give up, even if they lose a limb
They'll run for miles to get to their goal

I dig your analogy, though. :drinker:

for me it's like walking on a tightrope...
gotta pay attention to what im doing...make sure everything is balanced...because if i try to move too far to fast, i'll lose my balance and fall flat on my dumper.

an Olympic marathon - you have to pace yourself, you have to work, and you have to be willing to keep going cuz it's the Olympics! (well - it's your body... but the Olympics makes it more exciting)

I think its like climbing mountain. Some parts are steeper than others, sometimes your footing is more secure. When you are halfway there you can see how difficult the path ahead is but you see how far you've come and don't wanna go back! And in the end when you reach that goal you have to stay focused and live a maintaining lifestyle so you don't roll right back down.

(And when you do backlside the higher you went the more it hurts. I lost 68 lbs in 2007 only to gain it all back and then some. I only had to do that once to learn my lesson. This weight is staying off this time!)
