I'm on week 5, the 'recovery' week, which still means a 37 minute workout each day, but its the same one and more low key.

I was already a runner starting the videos so the cardio part wasn't a big deal at all, but some of the plyo stuff worked muscles that weren't used much running. even after a week or two i noticed huge gains in my running performance though.

I don't follow the diet, since i am already at my target weight and have my own selection of foods i eat. my diary is public though so feel free to check it out for ideas ( its mostly healthy stuff - you might just have to adjust the calorie levels ).

for the most part the videos will work your legs a lot, which is great, and also abs. there is some upper body in the form of pushups or plank work, but mostly its lower, which suits me just fine.

I dont know what month 2 holds yet though, since those videos are different and i havent watched ahead.

Yes i finished the entire insanity program! it's friggin awesome!!!!!! Ive lost a lot of weight so far, considering the busy schedule i have... i lost 17 lbs. i am currently on my second round of insanity , the first month is finishing up for me. unfortunately the second time around ive been slacking off bc of my kids and school.. But im sure if i did it every day i would have lost wayyy more.

For the best diet, you gotta eat CLEAN. fish, chicken, potato, veggies, salad.. that's pretty much it. make sure you eat good carbs before starting the workout because it's so intense.. such as oatmeal. and drink protein shakes!!!! this will help you gain muscle. before and after workouts is the best, about 1 hr before. ive gained a lot of muscle! my legs and arms are getting toned. and im starting to see definition in my stomach. this program really does work. i highly recommend it. I also take pre workout formula before i start daily exercise. this helps to give you that extra boost.

The South Beach Diet (phase 2) has a lot of good low-carb / healthy-carb options. Don't have to follow the diet per-se, but they've got some decent recipes, etc.
