Letting myself take a break!

I worked out hard and ate really well the last 7 days, and today I was VERY tired and feeling worn out or burned out. I started feeling bad about that, and feeling fat, but I realized that I really did need to let myself have a break tonight and rest—both physically and mentally. I was SO HUNGRY and craving comfort food, so I just had a small snack and really thought about it long and hard.... and then decided to have some eggs and potatoes for dinner. Comforting, but still a good choice! I ate way more than one serving of potatoes, but I didn't go over my calories. Then I took a looooong soak in the tub.

Afterwards I felt much, much better! Was able to pack a good lunch for tomorrow, plan out a workout for tomorrow that I feel good about (and know I'll have enough energy tomorrow after a good sleep!), and was able to choose a hot cup of tea and honey to satisfy my sweet craving (always get that when I'm tired and stressed out!).

I'm so thankful for all the supportive messages and threads here that I think really helped me approach this in a better way---to allow myself some time to rest and eat something that would give me a little peace of mind, and then be able to look forward to getting back into it tomorrow. It's good to hear other people overcoming the same thing---can always learn lots from thatI! :flowerforyou:

  • That's great! Good job! From what I've seen, I know you'll be at it again tomorrow ten-fold. :) You're an inspiration! Keep up the good work. No reason to beat yourself up over allowing your body to rest. It needs to!
