It's also referred to as a carb re-feed. Not entirely new, it's basically a low-carb/high fat or ketogenic way of eating (WOE) with a carb re-feed thrown in.

PS - if you (or anyone else) decides to try this, beware of the side effects of the first few days after dropping your carbs; keep your electrolyte levels up, as you'll be flushing a lot of them out.

I'm not qualified to discredit him, but read enough that I wouldn't bother with it. I did some quick research on cortisol after reading the article. Would suggest you do the same before adopting his plan, as many of the claims would seemingly be countered by well documented research. Any plan that completely disregards calories is a fad at best, IMO.

"An evening back-load might consist of a hamburger with french fries, a milkshake, cherry turnovers, and a protein shake mixed with bananas or a carb powder supplement before bed."

Last time I ate like that, I puked on my morning run.
