Big party tonight.... help!

Hey all,
I am hosting a large reunion party tonight for several friends who are visiting the area after moving away. There will be lots of crazy good food and beverages to go around. I so badly want to be positive and feel great about my choices in the morning. But I also do not want to stick entirely to my eating regimen tonight either. (400 calories in a meal.) The problem is once I start to eat, I have a tendency to just throw my arms up in the air and think, "Oh well! It's just one night." Which usually leads to disaster. However, I just can't seem to help myself once I start.
So any thoughts on how to best beat my "nasty, dark, food crazy" side? I will exercise today before the party, be well hydrated, and try not to hang around the kitchen so I don't just graze. But I need more support.
Any of your thoughts on how best to be successful would greatly help. Thank you all!

Here are a few tips...
Have a meal before the party (lots of veggies)
Drink 2 big glasses of water before your guests arrive.
Always keep a glass of water in your hand during the night.
Make sure you have a veggie platter tonight.0 -
I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL. ONE THING THAT HELPS ME IS TO GET YOUR FOOD BEFORE HAND. KEEP IT TO THE SIDE SO THAT IN YOUR MIND, YOU KNOW YOU'LL HAVE IT. FOR ME, IF I FEAR THAT A FOOD MAY BE GONE OR I GET REALLY HUNGRY FOR IT, I'LL EAT IT. BUT IF I KNOW I HAVE WHAT I WANT ALREADY, I'M GOOD. PORTION SOME FOR TONIGHT AND SET ASIDE PORTIONS FOR TOMORROW. AND IF YOU STILL GO OVER, GET A REALLY GOOD WORKOUT TOMORROW AND GET BACK ON TRACK. THIS IS NOT AN ALL OR NOTHING VENTURE. IF YOU MESS UP, GET BACK ON THE NEXT MEAL. HOPE THIS HELPS.0

When looking at the food, just pick a little bit of everything to try (I love food so I probably couldn't resist!) but keep your portions small and say, okay that's all I'll have of this. That way, you can have a little bit of everything and not go overboard. Also, load up on veggies. Keep your alcohol consumption low and yourself busy talking to good friends, and you should be fine. Most importantly, have fun!0 -
Thanks guys. Great, great tips. I'm going to really work on this tonight. My ultimate goal is to feel proud of myself at the end of the night.0
