In a fit of madness, I agreed to have a Halloween party at the house for a load of children and adults on the 27th and now I am looking for some healthy novelty food ideas.
I'm already doing melon brain and the puking pumpkin but I need some more visually engaging food ideas .... Any help appreciated
Thanks all!!

Definitely gonna keep my eye on this one... I had the same insane urge, albeit mine is just hosting for a crapload of kids (the entire third grade)...
My only idea so far is pigs-in-a-blanket mummy style, where you cut the dough up into narrow strips and wind it around the hotdogs like wrappings, leaving a hole for the 'face'.
I love the melon brain, though!0 -
I found this ---- finger food anyone?
It is just thin slices of ham rolled up with an almond at the top - quick and simple. I love it0 -
I picked up a polystyrene skull with flashing eyes last year and gave it a cheese and pinapple stick "hair do". Lychee eyeballs are also a healthy choice. I am afraid the rest of my party table (40 guests, kids, kidults and adults) will be sausage fingers with blood (ketchup), crisps with goo (guacamole) and shed loads of chocolate treats and pumpkin cookies0

You're right, it is an insane urge - why do we do it to ourselves?0 -

THIS is AMAZING but it would put all the pre-schoolers off their food for life0 -
Cool ideas! And as someone else suggested, there are other good ones on pinterest -- although not all of them are healthy.0

I love Jello Brains

They turned out more pink when I made them last year.
And not diet-friendly at all, but I loved my Oreo Owl cupcakes!

They all look amazing ... I will give the brains a go. Perhaps I could make the owls with half oreo eyes, that would make them more healthy .... right?0 -
