is it best to do your exercise before or after you eat? I get home shortly after 3 each day and then go for my walk, and then come home and make supper

I do the same thing you do. I don't feel so hot when I have too much food in my belly and I exercise.

I think before having a serious meal, but not if you are so hungry that your tummy is growling.

As I understand it, there's an up side and a down side to this!

If you exercise before you eat you've increased your calorie burn so you'll burn through more of those calories you're eating. The down side is that exercise can also increase your appetite!

When I exercise before I eat I try to eat an apple while I'm getting my meal ready (small green apple). This adds some bulk to my diet, and helps me feel less hungry when I sit down to eat! I also decide ahead how much I'm going to eat and if I make more I put the "extra" into a food container and pop it into the refrigerator or freezer so it's not just sitting there asking to me eaten!
