Burned cals. To eat, or not to eat them back

K so I've heard people say they try not to eat back their workout cals burned, or just some of them if they do. And I've also heard of people eating them all back. Both feel strongly about them and what it does for them. Is it an individual thing? Or is one better than the other. Because MFP says that right now, I have a total of just over 1200cals eaten, but my net is under 700. That seems bad doesn't it? But if I make it up to 1200 net cals then I will have eaten all my burnt cals back. What ever happened to the saying that in order to loose it is very simple, burn more cals than you consume. I am very confused...

  • You're already at a deficit at 1200.

If you want to eat 1200 as per MFP, and you work out 500 calories, then you're at net 700, so if you eat back that 500, you're still at 1200.

The less you eat, the more you lose. If you feel tired or need the energy, eat some back.

I am full after meals, have energy to burn with my tots and feel just fine netting at 700. I am a vegetarian therefore my meals tend to be naturally low in cals and I can't help that. So if I feel fine than I am fine? I like that. Listening to my body :)
