A somewhat newbie looking to lose 20 pounds, need support

I'm learning to eat a little bit better and I take a martial arts class. But I've been told that I need to add more exercise. My stomach is the ultimate problem area. I think I lack motivation because I'm lonely and don't have terrific social skills. I have friends but most like to hang out by drinking at bars or such and I'm trying to take care of myself.
Anyways, I'm moved by how supportive everyone is at Fitness Pal and I'm hoping to find the motivation I need to achieve my goal on a healthy level (no crash or fad diets).
