First, can I say I am SUPER jealous that you get to live in Austin? It is one of my favorite cities! I could write for pages everywhere you need to go- but part of the fun as a newcomer is to discover some of the gems of your new city for yourself.
Not sure what part of ATX you are in- but the normal newbie has to do Zilker Park, Mount Bonnell, Lake Travis, etc- great areas to walk that are right near downtown. A-town is super walk/jog/bike friendly. Just get up and go! Lots to seeIf that doesn't do it for ya- maybe a nice canoe trip down Ladybird. Tons of healthy food joints around too if you get hungry on your adventures.

Austin has tons of things to do & places to go. I live about 40 miles away & love to go there & San Antonio! Something for everyone0
