I dont know if you would say I am following it but I have taken away points from it.

I avoid processed foods as much as I am able. I consume no refined sugar whatsoever and even 'natural' sugars I keep to an absolute minimum. I primarily get any carbs I need from Vegetables, Nuts & Fruits-this is a personal choice as many others enjoy rice, potatoes, etc.

I enjoy proteins from eggs, cheese, chicken and fish primarily but enjoy my red meats (this is a personal choice because I prefer poultry and seafood so I eat more of it).

I don't worry about consuming too much fat as my sources are from my foods and a little oil that I cook with. I eat full fat foods :) They taste better.

I drink a ridiculous amounts of water and unsweetened tea.

I watch my calorie intake, daily protein & fiber and let my body do its thing.

It may seem restrictive but honestly I feel like I have managed to appreciate how food is primarily fuel for my body. I don't abuse my body by bombarding it with foods that lack fiber and nutrition but have gosh knows what preservatives and chemicals to preserve or enhance its flavor.

Also, when I do indulge in 'naughty foods' like cake, comfort foods (fried chicken and mash potatoes anyone?) or junk food, it is really and truly a treat which I whole hearted allow myself to enjoy. Not to mention, for the first time in my life, I am actually able to stop after a few satisfying bites and not overdo my consumption to the point my stomach aches from overeating like I used to do.
