dancer feet problems!

I am going to try to make a long story short. I used to two step 3 to 4 nights a week for fun but was religious about going. I then started doing adult ballet classes. I stopped for a year due to health problems. I gained about 40lbs due to being treated with constant birth control (for no real reason as it turns out but we won't even go there). I''ve lost about 15 but still 25 lbs heavier than before ( but progressively losing).
So enough background info, onto the current issue. I am now working at a position with my job where I am constantly on my feet and walking. I also am back in adult ballet classes for 90 minutes on Saturday. Just started ballroom dance classes on Thursdays. Thinking about also taking an advanced level country dance class on Tuesdays. My feet are screwed to say the least. I remember the typical foot pain from dancing in the past all the time, but this time I am also walking all day at work. I have high arches and walk on my toes (somehow hereditary because I didn't grow up around my dad and sister but they do it as well).
The pain in my feet is bad at the ball of my foot in the middle section (not under big toe or pinky toe). It reaches from the very edge of mysecond and third toes almost to the toes themselves to the edge before my instep starts. From my reading it seems likely it couldbe metataralgia. My feet hurt everyday after work. They don't hurt any more or less on dance days. I have to wear dress sho unless I get a note from a Dr (considering this if it will save my feet). Anyone else experience this? Particularly dancers out there? What helps? What did u do? Outcome? Etc....
Thanks for any info!

I can't help much with the work-related stuff, but with dance shoes, get some good quality ones.
I have some cheap eBay shoes that I use for practise and socials, and some $200 Supadance shoes that I use for comps. I can tell the difference in terms of support and how bad my feet feel after a few hours of practise. They're pretty expensive, but they'll last you a while, too.0 -
Great thank you. I'm going to have to buy soon anyway so I will keep that in mind!0
