Okay, so I'm going to be a reader at my best friend's wedding in December, and I have ordered a really beautiful black gown to wear that I'm HOPING will fit (I've lost 53 pounds), and my only real fear is that the little cap sleeves won't cover enough of my flapping, crepey underarms. Any ideas for tightening that all up in 8 weeks? Or is that one of those things you have to live with once you hit a certain age...? (I'm 54.)

You can defintely work on your arms using your body weight, light hand weights, or even household items like canned goods. Try push ups and no, you don't have to start with military style. Start with leaning push ups off a counter with your elbows close to your side, then move to something a little lower, then to your knees, etc. When I started I would do a quick 20-25 off the bathroom counter @ work everytime I was in there, cooking dinner? do some counter pushups. (Reverse one's off the counter are also good for your triceps; hands on the counter and dip your body down.)
Use your weights, whatever they may be, to do lateral raises, overhead tricep extensions, and bicep curls. Hint; make every rep slow and flex it like it weighed 10x as much.

These will help but many people believe the diet is 80% of the battle.

Hi, I know how you feel, I am 52 and have 'bingo wings'. I have recently started Jillian Micheals 30 day shred, its hard for a novice like me but I can see a difference in my arms and that is only level one. They ache even at the start of the work out but they are definitely starting to change shape. You can check out her video on youtube. At the very least it will also show you how to do the exercises.

It is not too late to start.

Thanks so much! I've got 30DS, and have done it 5-6 times. I also have hand weights. And god knows, I have a kitchen counter!!!

I'm starting now. Much appreciate the advice!
