Bodyweight exercises vs. Equipment

What is your preference? I stick to basic bodyweight exercises.

Bodyweight exercises for me every time. My main focus is Yoga but I have allowed myself to get overweight by two stone which is why I am here on MFP.
Some weight lifters say they prefer free weights to machines because with free weights you develop core strength as well as you have to balance the free weight, whereas a machine does it for you. With me, I find free weights also lock your body into a defined movement path - unless you use dumbells for everthing, because the bar defines your muscle tracking, whereas in yoga you need to develop a complete control of muscle and alignment so - for me it has to be bodyweight exercises over equipment though I do use a pair of dumbbells and a pull-up bar oh - and the floor of course. The floor is always useful.0 -
