Restaurant Eating ~~~ Crazy!

I do not like to eat out. However, on the weekends I like taking my boys out to eat and to the movies. I try to find a place where I can eat (I am a vegetarian).... We went to Applebee's yesterday and I had a great meal that was only 300 calories but the sodium was through the roof. Last week, I had food at a restaurant that was DRENCHED in butter....I could feel it in my mouth and taste it. I juice veggies and eat as whole as possible. Where to eat for REAL food?

I'm not trying to sound catty, but I don't consider juicing vegetables REAL food. Good for you, sure, but unless you are going out to a cafe that sells juice, I'm not sure you can do better than making your meals at home. Most restaurants add fat and salt to thier dishes for flavor. Many even upscale, non chain restaurants for example, brine thier meats before cooking which will up the sodium considerably, but it's also why they taste so darn good.
I would say based on your food preferences mentioned above, to either seek out a local vegetarian place, make your dishes your way at home, or resign yourself to the fact that most restaurants won't have the most healthy of choices, and in moderation, that's okay.0
