I've been trying really hard in the 6 weeks I've been here and I lost in total about 4 lbs. I weighed myself on Thursday night and I was 148 lbs again! Since then I've been tempted to eat stuff and because I've literally gained back all the weight I've lost in a whole month in a couple of days, which means that every time I've been offered something since then I've just been like "there's no point resisting anyway. Every time I try I just gain it all back again without noticing." So now I've probably gained even more! The motivation just isn't there and I need to do this! Sorry it's just frustrating because even when i am under on calories, it seems to have no effect. I'm trying to be positive but it's just so annoying!

  • You haven't gained it all back. The weight you think you gained is literally undigested food and poop.

I weigh myself several times daily just to see the progress of food intake. Sure it's not 'one pound in, one pound out' but if you are eating your cals right and measuring properly you'll realize you haven't gained and no matter if you've slacked on the water or eaten heavy foods, you haven't gained back fat.

Initial weight loss could be water weight as well. It has been said time and time again, but you should really worry more about measurements than weight.

Edit- You haven't much to lose either, and by your daily cals I'll guess you're set at 2-3lb per week depending on how active you are. I'd suggest trying for a 1lb a week loss but mostly just trying to tone and measuring inches and not pounds. You'd probably benefit more from just trying to make better food choices and working out 3-4x a week.

Genetics has a big part as well, I know someone who has very low blood pressure and has to eat all day long but never gains a pound and is super skinny. Sounds great from a outside position, but I think of it along the same lines as 'You have cancer? But you lost weight! Wow, that's great!'

She has to monitor calories daily just to not waste away, and it costs a lot of money to eat healthy and get enough cals.

And your skinny friends may be enjoying their metabolisms now, but by age 25 it will start slowing and they'll likely gain weight from their bad eating habits and have just as hard a time getting it off.

At least you are working on becoming more knowledgeable and getting healthy NOW and hopefully you form good habits that will last your life time.

Oooh girl this is the classic 140s trap ! I know because I have been in the 140s for years. Problem is, you probably look pretty good, and may not even have an overweight bmi....?
I have yoyo'd in the 140s forever and can't seem to get that last ten lbs off. I try for a few days and then kinda go " meh I look good enough. I'm gonna have a beer" lol. Sorry wish in had advice!!!

Well, if you have given up there is nothing I can say to change your mind. Your motivation has to come from within, we are not here to drag you along - we are here to run beside you. If there is any motivation left then please know that those 4 lbs in 6 weeks is exactly right on track with what someone of your small size should be losing. Also, that 4lbs that mysteriously returned was NOT 4lbs of fat, it was water/undigested food, etc. It was/is not permanent. You would have to eat 3500 calories ABOVE your TDEE (total daily energy expended) 4 TIMES for it to be 4lbs of fat that you gained back. Most people's weight fluctuates by about 5lbs throughout the day as well - I know I do! You should be consistent with when you weigh and how much clothing you have on each time. For me, I like to do it in the morning before I have eaten or drank anything but I wait about 30minutes as I retain water and just being up and around drops my weight by 1-2lbs of water. Anyway, I hope I am not being harsh, I just want to help you. I just think you are being negative for no reason at all. I am here to talk if you need to. Sarah
