Hello everyone!
I just have a quick question,... I bowl every Sunday for about 2 hrs,... do I put in for my exercise the actual 2 hours of bowling? Or no, cuz I don't actually bowl the whole time, I'm sitting too, what should I do?

Personally, I only count exercise that gets my HR up, so I probably wouldn't count it at all, and any extra calories burned are a great bonus.

The next time you go bowling, just keep track of the time you're actually
up there to bowl. Then multiply that by 3 (I assume you bowl 3 games a
night) for an average of the time you spend bowling.

  • Yes, I do bowl 3 games a night :) Okay, sounds good! Thanks Doug!

I had this question, so I wore my HRM one day to bowl. We are 2 teams of three, and bowl 3 games. I burned roughly 250 calories. So I give myself 150 each day I bowl with the league
  • When I go bowling with my friends, I divide the time spent on a game by the number of people playing. (So if we bowl for an hour and there's 4 of us playing, I count it as 15 minutes.)

If you want to be super exact, you'll have to keep track of your time like Doug suggested. Maybe have a friend help you out with a stopwatch?

And if you miss a spare or throw a gutter ball, don't forget to jump and down and
yell...that'll burn an extra calorie or two :)
