Running and the egg timer

So I have been going out running. Not following a program or anything, just seeing what I can do. Been doing this about 3 times a week for about a month now. Told my trainer that I’m running about a minute now or more. Just count in my head while running. My trainer told me to try to time myself. So found an egg timer in my kitchen drawer and took it to the park with me.

Start running, going for a while, out of breath, god, must be 2 minutes now. Look at the egg timer. Not even a minute! What the What! Must be broken. Really? Not even a minute. So to show the egg timer, I’m gonna run for another 30 seconds. Look down, 1:38. Great, I’ll just keep going till 2 minutes. Out of breath, try to control the breathing. Look down. 2:12. Great. I can go till 2 ½ minutes. I can do this! Keep going. Heart is bursting out of my chest. Have to stop. Start walking. Look down. 3:16. OMG. I can’t believe I did 3 minutes! Whoo Hoo. I’m so excited!

So I’m thinking of taking the egg timer to the gym with me when I do the weights. I bet I could kick it’s *kitten* there too.
