I have a goal to run a marathon

Of course, nothing extreme at first... but what I was wondering was if there were any people out here who started around 250-275 pounds who ended up running in 5k, 10k, or full blown marathon races...
How long did it take you until you felt comfortable enough to train? Did you start with little ones and work your way up? Tell me... I've been thinking that running a small little race would be a great goal for me....

I have seen that several folks her recommend a video called Couch to 5K. You might check this out as a place to start. Check out Utube they might have a copy there.0

I just started the Couch to 5K program. It is a great place to start and if you follow it, you'll be running 5K races in 9 weeks. They also have Couch to 10K, half marathon and marathon programs. Best of luck to you.0

I started running again about 9 years ago and I was 225 when I started. I ran a half marathon in 2006 plus a bunch of 5k and 10k races before that. Just do it, start running, don't wait till you're a smaller size. The C2K program is great, never did it but looks like how I started off.0
