Question for weight lifting ladies

For lean weight lifting ladies:

Is it possible to build up your glutes so that when you sit down on a hard surface, your butt doesn't hurt anymore?

I guess dudes can answer this question too, but never seen that "now that I'm skinny, it hurts to sit on a hard surface" comment except from other women.

My butt was wimpy to start with even when I was obese. After I lost weight, sitting on a hard surface hurt. But after a few months of lifting it doesn't hurt anymore... not sure if I got more muscle mass or just fatter in the bum, haha. I like to think it's the former, but I can't be sure

I have a round / big/ high butt from heavy lifting. It still hurts to sit on the floor for long periods on time.

I've lost over 40lbs in the last year. I can definetly feel my pelvis bones when I sit on a hard surface. I'm a man...and yes...it's uncomfortable...I bike ride, and do leg and glute workouts, but It will probably be a very long time before I have any sort of substantial muscle padding.

Yes... but on the other hand, all the squats and deadlifts will make your butt hurt even when you're standing. :indifferent:

I'm a happy camper when my glutes are sore after lifting. Makes me feel like it's working.

I have always been a "no-fanny annie". Now that I am lifting more, while I am still all gut and no butt, I actually HAVE something that resembles a heinie (I actually looked that up on Websters to make sure I spelled it properly.) I have not noticed a reduction in discomfort , but admittedly, rarely have a need to sit on a hard surface, although I was sitting indian style on a hard cement floor this weekend and didn't notice anything.

I find it helps some. Have my daddy's flat butt still, but building the glutes does help.

Haha... make me laugh... because this is SO true... do squats from here to eternity and you won't WANT to sit :noway:

Joke aside... yeah, it helps to build some muscle. But I still think that it hurts if I flex the muscle while sitting so I try to sit still... maybe I'm just not getting used to my new body yet.

Even when I was thin I had a round butt so I have never considered that some people get sore when they sit because they don't have enough padding! One more reason to love my big butt! :glasses:
