Alcohol - Water Retention/Weight

Hi all,

I went out on Saturday night and had a few drinks and I didn't exactly choose the best option, I had the Smirnoff with Blood Orange Cask (had a bit of a cheat day). However I know I didn't gain a few kilos of pure fat overnight but I did weigh about 1kg more this morning (Monday morning). I know that this isn't a huge amount gained it's just a bit annoying so I was wondering how long it should take for water weight (I assume?) to go back to normal and things I can do to help out the process of this?
