Cals in 100 gr white/brown rice?

Hi guys,

How many calories are in 100 gr of white or brown rice?

I've seen different numbers on MFP and other websites, ranging from 350 cal/100 gr to 100 cal/100 gr.

Help?

the figures you have are probably dry weight and cooked weight, around the 350/360 per 100g dry weight sounds right to me, and I always use this figure whilst weighing out dry rice to cook. :) cooked weight is a little more inaccurate because it depends how much water weight the rice has (ie how and how long you've cooked it will slightly change the weight because the ammount of water absorbed will increase with a long boil over a shorter steam at a guess)

http://www.unclebens.co.uk/our-products/rice/loose puts brown and white at the same value.

215 calories per 125g. As the carbohydrate content is stated to be under 50% I'm assuming this is cooked weight.

    http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/cereal-grains-and-pasta/5707/2 says 111 calories for 100g cooked and http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/cereal-grains-and-pasta/5706/2 says 370 per 100g dry

When I add rice I always weigh dry and when I search I do something like "white basmati rice dry" :)

I see. Thanks for the comment!
Wouldn't it make more sense to give calories for the cooked rice then?
I mean I weigh cooked meals, not raw.
