I've tried it in a fit of desperation a couple of years back.

After a couple of days I fainted from lack of energy and broke my ribs from the fall.

    Never again.

I tried it. I did lose weight, but the food was terrible and loaded with chemicals, and I gained all the weight back. I certainly did not feel good while I was on this program. I've tried a lot of stuff, and everything but diet and exercise ends with "but I gained it all back plus some".

Well I am on it now and have lost over 100 lbs. I love it and the food is great! I know it has changed a lot from a few years ago. I have lots of energy. I walk 3 miles a day and have no problems.

I haven't tried Medifast but I'm leery of any pre-programmed meal replacement systems simply because they don't give you the tools or help you to develop the healthy eating habits that we need to commit to (I suspect for the vast majority of us on MFP this is something we have to deal with for the rest of our lives) and - after looking at Medifast's website - it looks a little pricey compared to just buying good, healthy foods.
  • It isn't something you just "try" for 2 weeks. I've done it for 4 months and lost almost 50 pounds. I like some of the food, dislike other stuff, but some of the stuff I dislike, other people absolutely love. It is like anything, a matter of taste. I will be slowly transitioning off Medifast foods once I reach goal in the next few weeks. Medifast is a plan which involves transitioning back to your own food in a "maintenance" phase so that you don't regain all the weight lost on program.
