Low Energy by End of Day

My recommended calories are 1200 plus exercise calories. I've done a good job of staying in that range since Dec 28. I have read the posts about starvation mode so I am careful to not go below 1200 and I usually eat my exercise calories, too, with a workout 99% of the days. I've noticed that although I feel great during the day, 1200 calories just won't let me have the occasional "night owl" night. 16 hours up is all I've got, and then I usually crash hard no matter what I'm doing. Much more of a rapid "gotta go to bed now" feeling than before this lifestyle change. Have others noticed this effect? It's not a bad deal, and I guess it makes since because when I used to eat so much, I had all these excess calories converting to energy or whatever, I just find it funny that I go, go, go, DROP. No more late weekend nights unless I chose to eat another snack to re-energize!

when do you exercise? I exercise right before dinner and that usually gives me an energy boost and makes me able to stay up... but beware, sometimes it can backfire and you may want to settle down but your still pepped up!
  • I feel the same way! I work out after work, usually I have alot of energy after my work out. BUt when I get home I shower and hit the bed (or couch) I just pass out! lol.

    I also do 1200 cals a day

sleep is very important, and your body knows it. Perhaps you arent eating the right types of food in the evening meal to keep you going till bed? just a thought, but do listen to your body and get sleep, it helps regulate your metabolism too, very important.

Sleep is just as important to being healthy as eating right and excersising. It's when your muscles repair themselves. Your body is trying to adjust to a new lifestyle.
