I am 5ft2, 41 yrs. old. I started MFP at 143.5 and am now 130, which is also my personal goal (I still can't believe I reached it!!!! I went down from a 8P to a 4P!).

I think that it's really up to you how much you want to weight. Many people on here - our height - go all the way down to 115-110 lb. I would have to literally kill myself to maintain that weight! So, yes, I think it's pretty much a personal choice. 143.5 was the biggest I've ever been in my life; I felt huge at that weight, but it could definitely be the right number for you.

Whatever you decide as ultimate weight, best of everything to you! =)

I'm the same height and the BMI scale says I should be between 113lbs and 140lbs. 113??? That's not going to happen...lol

Yeah, BMI could be a place to start but it fails in incorporating body composition and other skewing factors (plus, there's a 40 pound leeway in my height's "normal" range).

ABSI seems to be more of a health-risk indicator - http://www-ce.ccny.cuny.edu/nir/papers/absi.pdf

and measuring body fat percentage may be a better baseline than a goal weight...
