Completed my first 5K!

On Sunday I did my first 5K race called the Cancer Chase. (I am a cervical cancer survivor). My goal was to run it in under 40 minutes and I came in at 35:35! While I may not be ready for the Boston Marathon, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment! I have already signed up for another 5K on November 18th and December 31st!

Anyone who crosses the finish line is a winner in my books!

That's amazing!! Congratulations on doing it and an extra one for being healthy!!!
I actually just did my first 5k yesterday as well. I walked it though, and finished at 49min. But I'm hooked and I've also signed up for 5 more before the end of the year. My goal is to run the whole 5k on Dec 15th which is 4 days before my 30th bday lol :)

CONGRAT-U-FREAKIN-LATIONS!!!!! THAT'S AMAZEBALLS!!!! Well done to you and being a survivor to boot, what an amazing accomplishment for you. I know exactly how it feels to get that first race under your belt... and then 2 MORE!?!?! You are on a roll my friend. Just wait, they get addictive. 5K turns into 10K which turns into 15K then a 10 miler and then a half-marathon. Speaking from experience, I totally get it!! =)

Keep it up!! Runners are awesome people. =)
