insanely busy???

In a bit of a funk for the past month.Up until this point, I always have been more "make time to workout not excuses" but now that there is so much on my plate, all I'm doing is making excuses and I can't seem to pull myself out of the funk and get to the gym!! A bit of background, I work full time, live with my SO and his 6 year old son. SO is a fireman and works 48 hour shifts so when he's gone, I'm handling all the home stuff by myself. I recently went back to school in September, We don't do too much extracurricular stuff, we do cub scouts which is a few meetings a month but other than that its just work, home, cleaning & homework, family time, then exhaustion so I get to bed. I tell myself I'll get up at 5 and get a workout in but that rarely happens. I just need a kick in the butt or something! How do you motivated yourself to make working out a priority when you're exhausted? Is it really as simple as "if you want it, you'll make time for it"??
