Does chugging your 8 cups of water at one time count?

I've tried to not drink anything but the daily required amount of water before having anything else to drink. This takes all day, so can you just chug all the water you need at once and move on?

There is no daily required amount of water. Drink when you need to drink and it doesn't have to be water. All liquids count toward your fluid intake including the water contained in fruit and veggies. There's no miracle that happens with 8 glasses of water a day. Problem with drinking it all at once is you'll probably feel like crap, be bloated and there is such a thing as too much water.

Sure, but I hope you are thirsty and stop to take breaths. If you drink a gallon at once, it could give you gas or a tummy ache.

Yeah, don't do that. You'll dilute the sodium in your body and cause all kinds of problems.
