Good day everyone. Just thought I'd drop a quick introduction. I'm new to this site and am hoping/praying is the place that will help me on my way to being healthier and to losing weight. To be honest about the whole thing I am at a point where I am very frustrated. I've been doing weight watchers and for the last 8 months have been at a stand still weight wise. I work out almost everyday for 60 minutes and one would think that I would lose something, but no. So my frustration level is beyond high. Anyways, I am going to keep a positive mind about MFP and look forward to this journey with you all. ANY advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I am wondering about the amount of calories that MFP is giving me. 1500 seems like a lot, any thoughts?

I have been on here for 12+ weeks now and use the guidance of MFP. The reason they give you more calories than maybe weight watchers or some other diets is they go off of the "starvation" theory. Which is that your body actually shuts down and eats less calories if it feels it is starving. So by adjusting the amount you need to maintain your weight by 500-1000 calories you loose anywhere to 1-3 lbs per week until you hit that plateau again and need to readjust.
Btw I started at 312 and currently down 34 lbs with a goal of 58 more to go before I re-evaluate where I want to end up. Add me if you are looking for a friend. I keep my calories between 1500-2k.0 -
Thank you for the kind words Rangarth. Congrats for the loss of 34 pounds. Job well done..0
